This route can be completed by most stock 4x4s with good AT tires. Expect pin-striping, mud, dust, and water crossings. It is recommended that parties be equipped for self-recovery and travel with at least one other vehicle. Total loop can be completed in four (4) 7-10hr days. Some dispersed and traditional camp sites are marked with waypoints, there are many others places to camp along the route. This route takes you to George Washington National Forest, Flagpole Knob, Reddish Knob, Lake Moomaw, Monongahela National Forest, Canaan Loop, Dolly Sods, and Green Ridge State Forest. Do not pass any gas stations without filling up unless you have more than a half tank of fuel. Some restaurants and points-of-interest are marked with waypoints for the users convenience. Largest town is Keyser WV. Limited services are available in Wardensville VA, Keyser WV, and Davis WV. Cell service is very limited and nearly non-existent on the southern half of the trail. Do-not go around or proceed past locked gates. Find alternate routes. Credits go to Outbound Overland for putting this together.
