We spent the holiday weekend around the Grand Canyon and then up through Zion. We left Las Vegas Friday mid-afternoon and headed towards the Grand Canyon. The drive had sun, rain, sleet, hail and just about everything in between. We caught a great shot of a rainbow as the sun was hanging low in the sky behind us. We made it to camp along Forrest Rd 302 as the sun was setting.  We set up the tent and climbed in for a chilly 32 degree night. Saturday morning we went into Grand Canyon National Park’s South Rim and played tourist for a while. We made it over to the Desert View Watchtower. The tower and the area is steeped with history.
